Add members to your Workspace
Find member controls, add people, and review available membership actions in a Workspace.
Updated 9 August 2026
Use the Workspace member panel to add people and review membership actions available to you. These steps cover direct member controls; confirm the intended people can open the content before relying on a sharing arrangement.
Before you start
- You need a Workspace set up. See Create a Workspace.
- You need permission to add or remove Workspace members. If those controls are unavailable, ask your Workspace Owner or Company Admin.
- Changing a member’s role requires its own permission; being able to add or remove someone does not establish permission to change their role.
View and add members
1. Open the members list
In your Workspace header, select the member avatars or the +N overflow badge. The member panel shows the current members.
2. Add a member
When Add member is available, select it and search for an existing Company member. If a role selector is shown, choose Member for this flow. Review the selected person, then select Add. Check the resulting member entry and role before continuing.
To review role actions or removal controls, select Edit in Settings when available.
Manage roles and remove members
Role changes and removals are done in Settings → [Workspace] → Members.
Open Workspace Members settings
Open your user menu, select Settings, choose the Workspace, and open Members. Review the people, roles, and email addresses listed in Access.
Change a member’s role
Open the Role control next to the person’s name and review the available actions. When Owner is available, selecting it opens Transfer ownership. Review the named Workspace, recipient, and consequences before confirming. Select Cancel to leave the confirmation without transferring ownership.
Remove a member
When Remove is available next to the intended person’s row, select it to request removal. Review any error and check the member list afterward.
Note: Keep member lists intentional. Add people who need the Workspace’s context or take part in its work, rather than everyone who may occasionally receive an update.
