# Use your Workspace pages

Create, organize, review, and use the maintained pages that hold durable context for a Workspace.

Workspaces & shared context

Workspace pages are where a Workspace’s shared picture accumulates. They keep durable context close to the work: the Workspace’s Context page (formerly Charter), objectives, decisions, operating practices, runbooks, retrospectives, and other material people need to understand the current situation.

## How pages fit into shared context

Maintained pages are the narrative layer of a Workspace’s shared context. They explain why the Workspace exists, how the team operates, which constraints matter, and what someone needs to know before acting.

They work alongside other sourced context in In Parallel:

| Context | Role |
| --- | --- |
| **Workspace pages** | Durable explanation and handover |
| **Meetings and observations** | Sourced decisions, actions, risks, questions, and learnings |

In Parallel can refresh maintained pages from authorized Workspace activity, the Context page, and uploaded documents. Home, Chat, briefings, and connected AI tools can then reuse that context without asking the team to explain the Workspace from scratch.

A maintained page is a useful summary, not a replacement for its sources. Follow source links and check the page’s update state before relying on an important claim.

## Find a Workspace page

Open the Workspace from **Workspaces** in the left navigation. On Workspace home, select the **Pages** section heading or a page card. The section heading opens **Pages & meetings**, where you can browse the library and select **Add a page**.

To see the full page tree, select **Workspace settings** in the Workspace header, then open **Pages**. This section contains **Structure**, **Recent structure changes**, **Archived pages**, **Manage pages**, and **Background documents**.

## Create a page

1. Open the Workspace and select the **Pages** section heading.
2. In **Pages & meetings** , select **Add a page** to open **Manage page types** .
3. In **Manage page types** , choose **Recommended** or **All page types** .
4. Select **Add** for a typed page you want in the Workspace.

You can also open **Settings → [Workspace] → Pages → Manage pages** to reach the same page-type controls while administering the Workspace.

The same dialog offers these creation options:

- **Upload a document** uses a selected document to create a Workspace page and keeps the source under Background documents. The generated page may simplify or rearrange the source formatting, so compare it with the uploaded document and correct the page before relying on it.
- **Custom page** starts an unstructured page that you shape in the editor.
- **Track a meeting series** attaches a page to an existing series tag.

An installed page type offers **Remove [page type]**. Read the confirmation and verify what will happen to its content before removing it.

Available page types depend on the Workspace. Examples include Objectives, Roadmap, Learnings, Vendor Scorecard, Decision Log, Runbook, Action Items, Risk Register, Open Questions, Retro Log, and Context.

Review a generated first version before relying on it. A typed page may use Workspace activity, the Context page, uploaded documents, and observation kinds associated with that page type.

## Understand the page header

The page header shows the controls that help you judge and use the page:

Opening and Mission of the separately configured fictional Holiday Returns Readiness Context

_Separately configured Context example with supplied purpose and owners. It shows the opening and Mission, not a review warning or completed review._

- **Title** — edit the page name directly when you have permission.
- **Add to favourites** — keep a frequently used page in your personal navigation.
- **About this page** — open **How this page works** to see the page’s purpose, perspective, source inputs, and refresh behavior.
- **Grounded by** , when shown — review the Workspace records and documents used as sources for the page. **About this page** explains the source types when that control is absent.
- **Updated** or a refresh status — check when maintenance last ran. Select the status to open **Version history** when versions are available.
- **Send to [preferred client]** — continue with the page in the AI client selected in your personal settings. Accounts set to ask every time may show a generic Send to AI handoff instead.
- **Page actions (`…`)** — organize and print the page, with archive or delete controls when the page permits them.

If the header shows **Refresh failed**, treat the current page as potentially stale. You can still read and edit it, but confirm important details against the underlying Workspace records.

## Edit a page

Open the page and edit its title or content directly. Changes are saved to the shared Workspace page, so keep durable team context in the page and leave temporary discussion in Chat or your collaboration tools.

Correct the page directly when it is wrong or outdated. Changes remain attributable, and **Version history** lets you review earlier versions when available.

Use **About this page** before making a structural edit. The **How this page works** dialog explains what the page is for, who it is written for, what it draws on, and when In Parallel refreshes it.

Select the page’s freshness state to open **Version history** and compare available versions.

To request a fresh generated version, open **Settings → [Workspace] → Pages** and select **Recompile** on the relevant typed page. Supported pages can also offer **Recompile** in **Page actions**. Recompile is not shown for every page, including some manual or legacy pages.

## Guide future page maintenance

Editing the page changes its current content. **Page skill** changes the instructions used to maintain that particular page. Open **Settings → [Workspace] → Pages → Structure**, then select **Page skill** beside the page.

See Edit and customize Workspace pages. A supported page also offers **Recompile** when you want a fresh generated version.

For the Workspace’s mission, scope, and ways of working, use its **Context** page. A **Review the context** warning asks for human review even when AI has recently refreshed the page. See Review your Workspace Context.

## Organize pages

Use **Structure** under **Settings → [Workspace] → Pages** to drag pages into order or nest them beneath a parent. For a named destination, select **Move** beside a page, choose **New parent**, and select **Move**. The page’s sub-pages move with it. **Recent structure changes** helps you review moves and offers undo controls when changes are listed. You can also open **Page actions (`…`)** on an individual page to:

- Create a subpage
- Rename or move the page
- Move it up or down among its siblings
- Print the page
- Archive or delete the page when those actions are available

Use a subpage when the material belongs under a stable parent. When an Archive or Delete action is available, read its confirmation carefully and follow your organization’s retention policy.

The available actions depend on the page. Product-managed or required pages may not offer Archive or Delete permanently.

> **Warning:** **Delete permanently** is destructive. Verify the page, sources, and retention requirements before confirming it.

## Run a page with AI

Select **Send to [preferred client]** when you want an AI tool to continue from the page’s context. Select the separate **Copy as prompt** button when you prefer to paste the prepared handoff yourself. Choose the default destination under **Settings → Account → Connections → AI assistants**, using **Use [assistant] for Send to AI**.

The handoff uses the page as working context. It does not make every statement on the page correct, and it does not give the receiving tool access to other Workspace material unless that access is separately available.

For a conversation inside In Parallel, select **Ask about this page**. The page composer shows the page as a context chip. Check the visible context before sending your question. You can also open **Home**, add the Workspace as context, and ask your question in **Ask anything**.
