# Customize a Workspace's appearance

Choose a Workspace color or upload an image so the Workspace is easier to recognize in navigation and Chat context.

Give a Workspace a color or image so people can recognize it quickly in the navigation, page headers, and the Workspace list under **Add context** in Chat.

## Before you start

You need the Workspace Owner role under role-based access control (RBAC) to change Workspace settings.

## Choose a Workspace color

1. Open your user menu and select **Settings** .
2. Choose the Workspace in the settings navigation.
3. Open **General** .
4. Under **Appearance** , choose **Red** , **Orange** , **Green** , or **Blue** .

The selection saves immediately. Select **Auto** to remove the explicit color and return to the automatically chosen appearance.

## Upload a Workspace image

1. Under **Appearance** , select **Upload image** .
2. Choose a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG file no larger than 500 KB.
3. Wait for the **Image updated** confirmation.

An uploaded image takes precedence over the color swatches, so color choices are unavailable while an image is present. Workspace images keep the rounded tile shape used by Workspace navigation rather than the circular shape used by people’s profile pictures.

## Change or remove the image

- Select **Change image** to upload a replacement.
- Select **Remove** to return to the Workspace’s color or automatic fallback.

If an upload fails, check the file type and size first. A very detailed SVG or large photo may need to be simplified or compressed below 500 KB.
